Portable speaker systems for music on the move

portable speaker systems come in all shapes and sizes, from tiny, compact devices that cleverly fold away, to larger, docking-type systems that accommodate iPods and other MP3 players.

One of the most important aspects when it comes to choosing portable speakers is volume. I’d argue that this is even more important than sound quality, as even the highest quality sound is meaningless if you can’t hear it properly.

Speakers generate volume by moving large columns of air. Obviously, then, the smaller the speaker, the less volume it can generate. So when you’re looking at portable speaker systems with a view to buy, be sure to pump up the volume and find out what it’s capable of.

Getting rid of ants

Ants are tenacious and resilient little pests that can be difficult to get rid of if you find them in your property. If they find event he smallest scraps of food in your home, they will return time and time again unless you deal with the problem thoroughly and effectively.

There are two types of ants – forager ants and worker ants. Foragers roam far from their nest in their hunt for food, laying down an invisible chemical trail that other ants can detect. When they find a source of food, they return to the nest and the workers then follow the trail to collect the food.

Cashmere scarves – an impressive piece of natural engineering

Ask any fashion expert, and you’ll soon find that cashmere scarves are the pinnacle of sophisticated style as well as sensuous warmth. The reason for their amazing heat-retaining properties and unmatched natural softness lies in its source – the unique cashmere goat.

Cashmere goats live in the high plains of Mongolia and China, where the temperatures are high during the day but plummet to freezing levels in the sparse atmosphere after the sun goes down.

Accordingly, the cashmere goat has evolved a singular coat that allows it to remain cool in the daytime but warm at night.

Cashmere scarves are made from the goat’s incredibly fine inner coat, which is made from incredibly thin, hollow fibres that trap the heat without being too dense.

Lambswool knitwear – high-quality fashion

lambswool knitwear provides a high level of comfort and warmth in relation to other fibres, both natural and man-made.

In many people’s eyes, lambswool is second only to cashmere when it comes to softness. Like cashmere, lambswool consists of many incredibly thin fibres which are spun together, trapping a small amount of air between the fibres.

Contrary to what many people think, it is not the fibres themselves that provide the warmth of lambswool knitwear, but rather the air that is trapped between the fibres. Air is an excellent insulator, and so it provides a barrier that keeps heat in and cold out.
