A new home for sale is a modern marvel

The houses and flats of the past were fine in their day, of course, but technological breakthroughs in the intervening years have led to many changes in the design of the modern property. Perhaps the most noticeable ones are those that help the environment, such as low-energy bulbs and short-flush toilet cisterns.

Bin bags causing waste disposal problem

We all know how long it takes for plastics to decompose. If we don’t know, then at least we should be aware that the timescale is measured in centuries, not years. So why is it, that we dispose of Bin bags so carelessly?

Unfortunately, despite there being several environmentally friendly alternatives available, we still use plastic bin bags in vast quantities. Although the contents may decompose fairly quickly, especially if it contains organic waste, the bag itself will take far longer.

Leading scientists and environmental lobbyists are now urging consumers to seek ‘green’ alternatives. Given the fact that bio-degradeable bags have been available for some time, there is no real excuse not to use them.
