How to get rid of ants
If you want to get rid of ants, you have a number of options open to you. Ants forage for food by sending out scouts who randomly search the area surrounding the nest looking for suitable foodstuffs for the nest.
Once they find some food, they then take as much as they can carry back to the nest, laying down a chemical trail as they go that other ants can then follow to return to the food source.
To stop ants entering your home, you need to disrupt these trails. This can be done by putting down materials that ants don’t like, such as talc, salt or vinegar.

Deratisation in France – for peace of mind
I had rodent problems in my French holiday home, so I was advised to call the deratisation specialist. I found a telephone number in the local directory, and explained, using my best knowledge of the French language, that I needed to speak to a rat control expert. Thankfully, my explanation was just about adequate, and a man came to visit the very next day.
When he arrived, I was relieved to find out that he spoke very good English. In fact, he’d spent five years working in Essex when he first got involved in pest control. He laid several bait stations around the property, stressing the importance of keeping my young children well away from these particular areas.
And now, six weeks later, I’m delighted to report that the rats appear to have disappeared completely. My wife is particularly relieved, because she is absolutely terrified of rodents, and was dreading our next visit.

Getting rid of ants
Ants are tenacious and resilient little pests that can be difficult to get rid of if you find them in your property. If they find event he smallest scraps of food in your home, they will return time and time again unless you deal with the problem thoroughly and effectively.
There are two types of ants – forager ants and worker ants. Foragers roam far from their nest in their hunt for food, laying down an invisible chemical trail that other ants can detect. When they find a source of food, they return to the nest and the workers then follow the trail to collect the food.
